Skippered by Gery Trentesaux, the First 45 “Lady Courrier”, has won the 4 legs ranthis week end during Spi Ouest France, confirming a promising start of the season.
Gery and his crew made very well despite tough weather conditions: rain and cold northern wind blowing up to 45 knots during the coastal leg on Sunday. The First 45 has shown her potential and reliability during the 3 windward/leeward legs and the coastal leg, The IRC 1 fleet was made of 40 yachts, including some directly prepared by other factories.
Well done
Well done to Gerry, especially for the commissioning of his yacht as nothing broke despite these tough conditions. Well done to Philippe Briand too, back victoriously to the IRC world and showing the potential of its First 45 and First 50. The next date for the yacht and her crew will be at Benodet for the traditional Obelix Trophy before leaving for the Scottish Series and the National Championship IRC in the UK.
Another First 45 “Popy of Portland” confirmed this good results last week end during the Red Funnel Challenge in the Solent area : 3rd position at the end of the week end, one leg won on the two ran.
Well done to the crews!
